Joseph Costello is an experienced communications advisor who helps clients navigate mission-critical moments and sensitive situations across industries and sectors. As a Senior Director in TLG’s New York office, he advises financial services firms, companies, family offices, and global law firms, among other leaders and organizations, on communications and brand strategy, issues management, and other complex matters. He has experience leading high-impact campaigns that engage stakeholders, shape public perception, drive news cycles, and deliver meaningful outcomes across business, policy, politics, and the law.

Prior to joining TLG, Joseph was a vice president at an issues management and strategic communications firm where he advised major companies on corporate communications and public affairs campaigns across a range of technology industries like fintech, prediction markets, industrial intelligence, gaming, and legal tech. Joseph previously served in key roles in government and politics. He served in the U.S. House of Representatives, rising the ranks as a spokesman in the Speaker’s Office before helping lead communications for the Oversight Committee. In roles on presidential and gubernatorial campaigns, he led high-profile media relations efforts, crafted policy announcements, and drove rapid response war rooms for major moments.

He received his B.A. in Political Science with minors in Art History and Environmental Studies from the University of Richmond.
